ArtWORK West

This traditional Southwestern adobe style residence is an Artist's second home. It is located on over two acres in the countryside three miles southwest of Taos with views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and the Taos Valley.

Description

The living portion of the house has two bedrooms, one upstairs and one on the main level, each with a queen size bed and a full bath. An L-shaped great room on the main floor has a living area and a dining area, which can seat twelve, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a small office. The residence is fully furnished and tastefully decorated. The utility room has a washer and dryer and the living area has a television with satellite reception and a built in video player. There are CD/tape stereo units in both the living area and the studio.

A veranda is on the north side of the building. In addition, a large, sunny, east facing patio is located off the great room. It has outdoor furniture, a gas grill and an outdoor fireplace.

The studio, which is available for use by the renter, is comprised of six hundred square feet of space with north facing French doors which open onto the veranda. It has sky lights, spot lighting, storage shelving and a work bench with an adjacent tub with hot and cold water.

For artists not attending a formal class in Taos but wishing instruction, arrangements can be made with local artists to provide individual classes.

The owners have prepared a packet of material so that renters can quickly find information on all aspects of the Taos recreational and cultural experience.

The residence includes a casita where a local artist lives. She can assist with questions and emergencies.

Cost

Rentals rates are based on bedroom usage. The rate for each of the two bedrooms is $40 single and $60 double. The minimum stay is three days with half of the rental fee due with the reservation and the balance due upon arrival. For those with large parties requiring additional accommodations, discount prices have been negotiated at a variety of private, condominium and bed and breakfast facilities in the Taos area.
