Course Description: Jim Beckner is known for his expressionist landscapes, cityscapes and figurative oil paintings. He has a degree in Fine Art from Colorado State University and had studied extensively at the Art Students League. He is represented by Abend Gallery in Denver.
Jim will demonstrate and teach at sites throughout the Tao area and in the ArtWORK West studio. Students will learn to simplify the relationships of shape, value, color and edges. Exercises will focus on manipulating these relationships to express the vision of the artist, thus combining strong design elements with painterly expression.
